Henry VIII had Six Wives

When Henry VIII of England died, he had a track record of having had six wives. His first one was Catherine of Aragon. When he fell in love with Anne Boleyn, he sought permission from the pope to divorce Catherine. The pope however, refused to give his consent. Because of this, Henry VIII broke away from the Catholic Church and established the Church of England. He eventually married Anne.

After sometime however, he grew dissatisfied with Anne and had her beheaded under, what some scholars say were fabricated evidences of adultery and witchcraft. Anne was followed by four other women. Jane Seymour died while giving birth, Anne of Cleves was divorced and Kathryn Howard was beheaded. Catherine Parr, the last wife was fortunate enough to have not been divorced and beheaded. Henry VIII had already died before Catherine Parr could suffer a sad fate.
